Linda does Swedish massage mixed with a number of modalities she has studied through her career.  These include Positional Release, Shiatsu, Somatic Rebalancing, Deep Tissue, and Trigger Point Therapy.

She also uses Polarity therapy, Reiki, essential oils, and flower essences in supportive roles.

Positional release - A way of working WITH the body instead of against it.  This modality works by placing the person in a position of comfort.  A tight shoulder blade, for example, is gently and ever-so-slightly taken (by the practitioner) in the direction of tightness.  There, the body discovers the "misuse" pattern and lets go.  The body is thus "educated" and can let go of the misuse pattern.  Especially good for chronic pain, and for pain held with emotional content which the person wants to release.  Can be done through clothing.

Shiatsu - This healing art, originating in Japan, uses the power of touch and pressure to induce deep relaxation and a feeling of well-being, so that the client can access his/her own self-healing abilities.  It works with the body's energy pathways.  Can be done through clothing.

Somatic Rebalancing - This modality uses gentle, rhythmical, rocking movements to deeply relax the nervous system.  Works with passive range of motion, which drops to the nonverbal, unconscious level of the mind/body allowing new ingredients to cme up and move out.  Deeply relaxing.  Can be done through clothing.

Deep Tissue Therapy - The intention, here is to help make the body a functional and supportive home for the spirit.  this may mean reducing muscular restriction, reducing pain, increasing range of motion, improving body alignment and normal physiological functioning.  Emotional release may be facilitated as well.  It often means working with a particular point at a level of "good hurt", but never at the level of pain that makes the body pull away.

Trigger Point Therapy" - These are specific points of muscle fiber contraction that are exceptionally tender.  Their particular offering is that they make another area hurt (this is called referred pain).
